I'm coming home, so tell the world that I'm coming home.

Alright, so. Haven't updated this bad boy in so long. But....I sucked ass at blogging my time here huh? Oh well.
Right now I have some asshole above me banging some vent or something. Whatevs.
LAST FINAL WAS TODAY GUYS :D
It was so exciting, I didn't even care about the exam. I just wanted OUT. So I sat there and wrote enough to get by. At the end of the day, my black history grade doesn't matter as I'm sure I've done good enough in my other classes that this can get dropped.
So, my room is in bags to pack up. Going to wash my clothes and pack them into my suitcase :D
Only Friday then I go home.
And I'm so RELIEVED. Student Finance came through and have paid me my final loan. If customs wants me to pay anything, I CAN PAY.
AND I HAVE THE MONEY FOR HONG KONG. I'm so excited guys.
I can't wait to go home, and I cannot WAIT for Hong Kong. You have no idea HOW exciting this is. Btw, this is telling me Hong Kong is spelt wrong. Isn't that nice, a country. Spelt wrong. Whatever.
I'll give you some of my pretty pictures at the end of this.
Gah, so excited for life.
It's funny, I couldn't wait to leave England, but as much as I've liked being here, it's made me realise how much I LOVE England. I think America is too similar but not tbh.
I'm glad I got to visit Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon though, at least I did something other than stay in Utah the entire time!
I'm contemplating teaching in China or Japan after I finish university. Broaden my horizons. Plus I love Asia.
This entire year has brought my grade up too. Thank goodness for easy American grading! Hopefully my entire year works out at a First, which is super impressive.
So I shall leave you with some pictures :)

So close!

So...3 days until I leave for Utah!! D: so nervous about it. Eeek.
Got my dollars on Friday to take to America, the rest will hopefully be sorted out whilst I'm there!

They look so strange! It's gonna take some getting used to. And can I say, fresh dollar bills smell awful :/

I had my leaving party on Saturday, it was awesome. So many people came and my grandparents combined gave me £70 which I used today to buy stuff I needed...and stuff I didn't lol.
Me and Kirsty made cakes, we were meant to make one big cake with the American flag inside...but it didn't work out. This is the result lol.

They tasted good though soo...that's good right?
Kirsty bought me this as a leaving present!

They're so gorgeous! :D I wore them on Saturday and I personally thought I looked rather pretty :)

So today I took Kirsty to Leeds to go shopping and get her on the train home, and to commemorate her coming here to Leeds to see me she bought this from Pandora...

It's a little silver horse bead because I love horses :) Isn't it so cute?

We also went into Debenhams and Harvey Nichols..and were a bit naughty as we bought make up. We called it 'friendship make up' to commemorate our friendship and her coming here lol...just an excuse to buy expensive stuff. Look at all what we bought!

We both bought a Lipglass from MAC, and both bought an eyeliner from Urban Decay. I also bought a lipstick from MAC whereas she bought an eyeshadow pencil. I love it all! Cost me £39 in total, same for her!

This is the Lipglass in Nymphette. It's gorgeous on :D I combined with this....

Which it Frost. It looks orangey, but when you put it on it just gives it a softer red and this gorgeous gold glow to it! And the lipglass just adds shine to that glow! Amazing!

And this is the Urban Decay eyeliner in El Dorado. It's so pretty, I'm going to combine it with the Naked palette by them too.

Overall a good day! I also bought my travel adapter, Simple face wash, toothbrush and toothpaste. I finally bought a sensitive toothpaste as my teeth are far too sensitive :/
We also bought some books from Waterstones because I'm a silly girl who can't stop buying books.

Only 3 days to go!

Updates and cute stuff!

So today's blog will be just..I dunno random updates aha. And cute stuff. And to start off the cute stuff, meet my new cousin!

Logan John Missions :D Born on 15th July, which was incidentally the day Harry Potter came out!
We thought it was ironic as the place in Utah I'm going to is called Logan, and obviously in Utah there are Mormons and they go on missions. Logan Missions. HOW STRANGE?
He was so sweet, cooed a lot xD

I also saw Harry Potter today, totally awesome. Loved it, would go see it again! The battle scenes were epic, Snape totally broke my heart and McGonagall was badass as usual :)

Yeah I can't think of anything else aha

Sigh

Less than two weeks and I'll have a visa for America, and I can buy my flights.
Then all that's left is to wait to visit this beautiful place.

Updates

So how 'bout some updates for y'all?
So housing sitch with Utah. I got into Valley View :D So it's all girls and a shared with a roomie. AND IT'S AMERICAN. Hellz yeah.

I'm going to LANDANNNN on Saturday. A.k.a London, with Kirstyface. Part one of our epic European trip is a GO. Going First Class too....cos that's how I roll ;)

Check out my newest purchases :DDDDD

I've wanted the first shirt for agessss now :D And I finally got it. Though the stupid woman was all 'the 20% discount doesn't apply to promotional items' and Georgie was like '..it says right there it does' ¬_¬ But whatever. I love them <3

Wooo

I applied for housing today at Utah State! :D So excited.
I put my choices as
- Bullen Hall
- Greaves Hall
- Valley View
I kinda realised that I really don't want Greaves hall, as it's international and I really don't want to go all the way to America to end up surrounded by Spaniards and French or something. I could just cross the Channel if I wanted that.
But I liked the sound of them. I'm excited now :D

Mixed feelings

So I got my welcome pack from Utah in the email box today. That made me go like this.

Yeah pretty much just like that aha. So I gotta be there by 21st August. AWESOME.
And then the uni number they gave me doesn't work, as it won't let my create a password. This means I can't register for classes or apply for housing yet.
That makes me feel like this.

AND THEN I FIND OUT CLASS REGISTRATION HAS BEEN OPEN SINCE 21ST APRIL. What is the likelihood of me getting the classes I wanted? PROBABLY ZERO. That most definitely made me feel like this.

So yeah. I was like super happy. Now I'm all 'FUCK MY LIFE'. I mean seriously, the major problem here too? I HAVE TO TAKE 3 HISTORY AND 3 AMERICAN HISTORY MODULES. THIS IS A REQUIREMENT OF ME GOING TO THE USA.

This calls for.

English nature?

So I don't know if it's just because I'm English or what but I always feel like I'm being a nuisance to people!
I'm pretty sure the English are well known for being reserved and polite and I've never felt more like it lately.
See I always go to ask my American friend Annie stuff, but then I just don't because I feel like I'm being a nuisance! And she's already told me before that I'm not and it's fine, but I still feel that way! I'm pretty sure I should try and get over this but I just can't help it. She's already been so ridiculously nice to me that I feel like I'm asking too much for anything else!

I mean, she barely even knows me and already offered to drive me from the airport to Logan and even to stay with her family for Christmas. I can't tell you how flabbergasted (it was the only word I could think of aha) I was to get a reception like that! Just try and imagine someone doing that here! It's unheard of, and I dare not ask anything about it because of course, I just feel like that's just plain rude! You don't just ask things like that in England, it's just not done! But from what I've heard that's how it's done in America. I can't even imagine how awkward I'll feel. I don't know, I just feel like I'm intruding? But I don't think she knows how much I appreciate what she's offered, I mean staying with her family for Christmas? I hope I do get to, well I know for a fact that I can't come home, but to experience Christmas with an American family? A different perspective in a different culture? She's already said that they're excited, and I hope they still want me to go as I'm excited too. I hope to meet them and hope that they want to meet me too! My only worry is that people tend to promise me things and then go back on them. I desperately hope that's not the case. If I do get to, then that's already one point in America's favour.

Urghh it's frustrating! I can't even explain how nervous I get aha. The thing is as well, my family are just like Americans then. We go out of our way to help other people! My family would offer for someone to stay for Christmas, drive people places. Basically bend over backwards to help others. The only thing that has generally gotten both me and my family is to get, and forgive my French here, fucked over. But it seems to work in America?

Maybe that's why I've always been obsessed with America. Because it's so like me, I'm outgoing usually, outspoken, loud and always happy to help others. The only problem is that here in England it screws me over. I mean I can count on my hand the number of people I think care about me. I'm beginning to hate life because I just feel like I get screwed over by everyone and everything in it. That's why I'm hoping that America will change me, or at least be the place where I can be myself again.

I hope that I meet more people like Annie who are so willing and happy to help someone they barely even know. I hope that I can find myself in America again, as silly and cliché as that sounds, because unfortunately I'm losing myself in England. I want friends who are outspoken like me and encourage me to actually do stuff instead of just letting me sit in my room all day and waste away. I hope that when I go out to town, I get to go out with friends instead of by myself. It's a terrifying thought that I'll be nearly 5,000 miles away from home, and the sad fact is that the only thing I'd miss is my family. I'm ready to grow my wings in a sense and see what's available to me.

I moved away from home nearly 150 miles away to try and find myself. I became independent, but I didn't find myself. In fact I lost myself instead, I love Leicester and I love university. I love Georgie and Emma, but that's all I have to show for my step out of my comfort zone. So maybe an entirely different country will be it. My only worry? What if I hate it and can't come for nearly a year? My other worry? What if I make the best friends ever and never want to come back? Have to leave them back in America and come back here? I don't know.

So I think in conclusion to this ridiculously long, angtsy post, I can surmise that I'm excited and nervous for America. There are people there that I can't wait to meet, like seriously I can't wait to meet Annie again and just thank her in person for offering to do all this amazing stuff. I just can't wait to go. I'm just getting bored of life right now. I need something to spice it up, and though most people would laugh at the thought of Utah of all places being the place to spice up anyone's life, I think it will for me. I've idolised the place already, I'm just hoping it won't let me down.

Exams are over!

So my exams are over....yaaaay! This makes me super happy because I hate exams. I hope I did okay in them but time will tell.

So no more of this. Not that I did any. Worst work ethic ever.
I spent Wednesday, Friday and Saturday working, I've officially decided after this year I'm NEVER working in a bar ever again. It's the ultimate irony, the girl who doesn't like alcohol spending part of her life working with the stuff. People are so darn rude! And I hate picking up all the rubbish afterwards. So lame.
And this week I'm working a ridiculous amount, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday late lounge (a.k.a working from 10:30pm to 5am at the earliest) *sigh* S'all money right? And I need this.

Lovely colourful pounds. This totally made me realise that it's going to take me forever to understand American money. I mean, all their notes are green. Which is NO help for me, they're going to be getting lots of notes tbh. I admit, I prefer our pounds or even the Euros, because they're totally colourful and pretty.

And on that note, I have to prove I have around £7500 by March 7th. Can you say...WHAT THE FUCK? Student finance isn't even OPEN yet, and I have as much chance of them completing my application in a month as I do of raising the dead. Apparently I can send this years student finance to prove I get money and will be getting money. Combined with what I have so far, I've got around...£6400? I know right, I need £1100 at least. And I am NOT earning that in a month. God damn. At least I'm not like some other people, some need to prove they have $15,000, and people at George Madison University have to prove $18,000. Ouch.

That's about it really, can't think of anything else pressing to add :)

Christmas and other stuff

Sooo yeah, Christmas was good I suppose. I'm not huge on Christmas, I love Halloween more. I can't wait for Halloween in America, it's gonna be great. But then again I think I'll love Christmas more in America too, they seem more excitable about it and go to greater lengths to make stuff look awesome. So I'll get excitable, which I'm sure my mum will kill me for. But whatever. I got lots of PS3 games for christmas, Assassin's Creed 2 and Brotherhood, Blur, RDR: Undead Nightmare and Dead Rising 2. I also got some books and Fringe season 2, Bones season 1, Supernatural season 5 and Band of Brothers! I love everything here and I've already finished Assassin's Creed 2 and am well into Brotherhood. It's so fun!

And then I worked New Years Eve Propaganda, which was about as much fun as shooting myself in the face. I swear. The wonderful O2 Academy was open from 10pm till 4am, and good lord were we ready for it to close by 2:30! It was practically dead by the end, I've seen bigger kids parties I swear to god! And I totally missed the AMAZING fireworks in London. They were awesome, I'll post them so you can watch. I mean, they were set to MUSIC AND EVERYTHING. I think it's around 2:35 where Queen starts, and the magic really happens!

I showed my granddad Utah State the other day when he came over. He thought it looked great and very picturesque, clean and tidy. Oh and very American aha. And when it kept showing all the amazing sports you can do he was like 'I wouldn't do that, gonna do some mountain climbing Sarah?'. I just stared at him aha. I also showed him Annie, which sounds totally weird I do realise. But he wanted to see her because I'd told him that she already went there and was willing to help me round or at least get my bearings and hopefully be my awesome American friend! He thought both her and her family were the picture perfect American family and that they looked so nice. I totally agree, just looking at her pictures makes me think they look like the ultimate nice family! I'd totally love to meet them!

He also asked me if I was gonna go skiing or anything. I'd just like to point out right now that I will probably suck at skiing. Plus I want to snowboard not ski along with the fact I'd be super paranoid that I'd get hurt and it would cost me ridiculous amounts of dollars to fix. I'd much rather just stay safe and complete!

I can't really think of anything else to post except that I'm not looking forward to going back to Uni. I have two exams, one on Friday 21st January and one on Saturday 22nd January. Yeah that's right, a SATURDAY. And they're the days after each other, WTF? So not happy. Then ANOTHER exam on the Wednesday, good lord do I hate exams.

Well that's all folks!

Many things!

So since the last blog update which was ages ago, lots of things have happened. I got onto the year abroad course again, and am hoping for Utah State University! It's got the courses I want and hopefully I can afford it! Plus my American friend Annie goes there :) It's always good to have at least one friendly face!
Secondly, my job is going swimmingly. I'm managing to be at all my lectures and seminars and handing in my essays on time which is good! Alongside multiple presentations. I got paid today too and got £458 for only 3 weeks work. Which is fantastic! That's around $710 for America!
There's not much else I can think of that's pressing at the minute.
Of course when I go to America this is obviously where I'll blog everything that happens there and update with some pictures. I already have a lot of what I'd love to do planned out. A short list is this:
- Go to Las Vegas for my 21st, Utah is only a state over from Nevada!
- Take pictures of the Greek frat houses, Wal-Mart and the biggest car I can find
- Go to New York for New Years Eve possibly?
- Go to Washington D.C
- Go to Los Angeles, Huntington Beach and San Francisco
- Go to Orlando and enjoy the theme parks!
- Go to the Grand Canyon!
- Make lots of American friends
- Try every variety of Coca-Cola and Pepsi/whatever else I can find!
- Buy a box of really cheap ass Lucky Charms and boast on facebook
- Make my life look amazing.

That is all.
