Mixed feelings

So I got my welcome pack from Utah in the email box today. That made me go like this.

Yeah pretty much just like that aha. So I gotta be there by 21st August. AWESOME.
And then the uni number they gave me doesn't work, as it won't let my create a password. This means I can't register for classes or apply for housing yet.
That makes me feel like this.

AND THEN I FIND OUT CLASS REGISTRATION HAS BEEN OPEN SINCE 21ST APRIL. What is the likelihood of me getting the classes I wanted? PROBABLY ZERO. That most definitely made me feel like this.

So yeah. I was like super happy. Now I'm all 'FUCK MY LIFE'. I mean seriously, the major problem here too? I HAVE TO TAKE 3 HISTORY AND 3 AMERICAN HISTORY MODULES. THIS IS A REQUIREMENT OF ME GOING TO THE USA.

This calls for.

Union Jack

I wish I could find a blog layout with this as a background.

I'm totally proud of my English and British heritage. And yes, I do say I'm proud of my British heritage, as my ancestry includes England, Ireland, Scotland AND Wales. Therefore I am officially British in ancestry, English in birth. And I love the Union Jack <3

A royal wedding

So the royal wedding is tomorrow. Or it will be in 10 minutes anyway. And whilst I'm not a 'royalist', a.k.a think the royals are the be all and end all, neither am I against them. I like William and Kate, think they're very down to earth unlike most. And Kate is outrageously pretty, totally envious. Not that she's marrying William, he doesn't quite do it for me. But still, it's bringing in money for the country so all those who are against it can go fuck off.
See? It's just a wedding. Don't care about it? Don't watch it. Simple as. I'm tired of seeing it everywhere too, but it doesn't mean I'm screaming it from the rooftops. Shockingly enough, you banging on about it, is giving it more attention. So shut the fuck up if you don't care.

Me and my mum will be watching it, we both kinda want to see some history happen. So from 10am onwards, I think it's 10am, we'll be watching it. Plus I want to see what Kate's dress looks like. Can't be worse than that monstrosity that was his mothers.

And also, those protests by those fuckhead radical Muslims who want to protest outside their wedding? Kindly go fuck yourselves and leave our country please. I don't care who you are, but at the end of the day, it is still someone's WEDDING. Whether they are royal or not, would you want a fucking protest outside the church or mosque on your wedding day? No, therefore treat them like human beings too. I mean Jesus, the things already being broadcast across the world, it's not like they have a lot of privacy with it.

On another note, I do love all this patriotic flags I'm seeing :) I always love it whenever the Union Jacks or St Georges flag comes out. Makes me proud to be English and British. I mean, look at how awesome they look! I do think our flag is like..one of the best ;) It always looks so darn regal. Totally love it. I have an obsession with flags for some reason, when I do Europe next year my aim is to buy a flag of each country whilst there!

And how cuuuuuuute are those?! I so want one :x

K-Pop

So I figured out today why I like Korean music so much. Because it's so HAPPY. Unlike most American and English music nowadays, it's almost like K-Pop doesn't take itself too seriously, and it's always so happy and upbeat that all I want to do is dance whenever I listen to it. I mean, I'll give you guys a few examples, so I apologise for the amount of YouTube videos, but seriously, I love it so much.

And

Yeah okay so they're not exactly master pieces of music, but they're just so upbeat and happy. They're always dancing in their songs and I love it. I love it so much, I always get excited whenever I listen to them on my iPod and just want to go to South Korea so bad just to see it all! South Korea and Japan, I'm not as into Japanese music, I much prefer Korean. But still...it's fun to listen to.

A shopping trip!

So me and Becky skedaddled on to Leeds today for a little shopping trip. I wasn't intending to buy anything, Becky was, and she did buy stuff, but I ended up buying stuff too. I went originally in a vest top, cardigan and jeans, and holy cow I'd only been there for like..half an hour and I was dying from the heat. It was super hot today, over 21 degrees apparently. So I ended up in New Look and bought these amazing little beauties.

I swear as soon as I put them on I instantly felt cooler! They were such a godsend on a warm day :D And then we went into River Island, and there was this purse I really wanted as mines over 2 years old now and practically falling apart, but it was £12.99 and I was all 'I'm not paying that much for a purse!' so Becky bought me it! :D HOW CUTE IS THIS?

It's so cute and summery looking :) And slightly nautical looking, which as you can tell by my gorgeous nautical styled pyjamas, I LOVE. I absolutely adore sailor stuff, and if I could I'd buy everything to do with sailors <3

Just stuff

So I only just realised today that my bank, NatWest, gave me £20 compensation because of the complaint we made the other day! Basically the Leicester branch dicked me around something rotten last semester, so we complained and they've given me that! :D Which is always a bonus. I'm not putting it into my savings account though, primarily because the least amount of money I spend means the more money I will have when my loan goes in to put away! :)

I don't know what they were doing in Leicester, but since going into my Wakefield branch I've been sent two statements for my savings account, which alas I do not need anymore because they printed me out a letter saying how much finances I have! Sad times!

Student finance STILL haven't sorted out my freaking finances, it's almost like they don't realised that I sent them a change of circumstances form...two weeks ago. Seriously, sort it out guys. IT'S NOT LIKE I NEED IT OR ANYTHING FOR NEXT YEAR.

My room is super freaking hot in the day :( It's really not cool. Basically, I leave my window open at night, which means that at night it's cold as anything and I have to snuggle down in my bed. But unfortunately my room faces the sun and has double glazed windows, therefore in the day it's hotter than hell, and I often wake up feeling suffocated and sweating it's that warm :( So not cool! (no pun intended hah)

Movies

I feel like making a post about some movies, so here you go :)

So I finally watched this yesterday.

It was okay. I didn't think it was amazingly, fantastic, mind-blowingly, awesome like all my friends apparently thought it was. Nor did I think it was confusing like a lot of people told me it was. I understood everything that was happening quite easily and wondered where I was supposed to be confused. It was an okay film, pretty easy for me to watch and enjoy, but I didn't think it was AMAZING or anything. I'd watch it again sure, but...well yeah, the best part was the soundtrack. I love Hans Zimmer to pieces, he does all my favourite soundtracks. And pretty much the entire way through the film I was all 'omg this soundtrack is immense'.

I watched this the other week.

I thought it was twice as good as Inception tbh. Real sleek and nice, I would've actually liked to have seen what it looked like in 3D tbh, and I normally think 3D is a complete waste of time. I also LOVE the soundtrack to this too, I love Daft Punk and Derezzed is totally awesome. Great movie!

Europaaaaa

I CAN'T WAIT FOR EUROPE. Yeah so I'm probably still going to Utah, it's just that you know, I've seen dead horses move faster than student finance, but Europe is definitely happening :D
So I've been entertaining myself with fantasies of what I'll send back home to my mum and dad, I nearly wrote mom there :/, from each country :) So here's the list so far.

From Portugal: I don't know what Portugal's famous for so no idea. Maybe a flag.

From ESPANAAAAAA: Probably nothing, we already have stuff from Spain from the times we've been before.  Maybe a Spanish fan or a something with the El Toro bull silhouette?

From France: Ermmm once again I don't know as we already have stuff from France :/

From Belgium: Belgian chocolate of course!!!!

From Amsterdam, Netherlands: Ummmm I'm thinking like..some tulip bulbs or something

From Germany: I have no idea, I was contemplating sending some form of German sausage but I don't know lol, I'll figure this one out, maybe a real small Beerstein?

From Denmark: I've been told to send something back that's to do with Hans Christian Anderson. Apparently he wrote The Little Mermaid or what it's based on. So therefore I shall.

From Austria: Ummm from the website it recommends stuff like little 3D picture frames of the various architecture. Might send one of those back!

From Switzerland: Swiss chocolate of course once again, and maybe a small cuckoo clock if I could afford it? I also find it highly amusing that they say to open up a Swiss bank account. Wtf?

From Venice, Italy: A Venetian mask!!! A very obvious thing to send back

From Florence, Italy: Apparently something to do with leather.

From Rome, Italy: A Murano pendant???

From Vatican: A keychain or something to send to my grandparents, they're Catholic so I'm sure they'd love it

From Pisa, Italy: A mini Tower of Pisa?

From Athens, Greece: Oh this cute little owl thing that I've found on my Athens website!
How cute is that?

That's all I can think of right now :)

Woopsie

So I was a little bit angry last night, I totally apologise for the tone of the blog :/
I just can't wait to leave England behind for a year. Don't get me wrong, I love England itself, we have so much culture and history. It's just the people can be selfish bastards who forget about others feelings. Maybe it'll be the same in Utah, but I doubt it. American's seem to be more giving than the English in general, and I just can't wait to get out of the same monotony of life!!!

Things can only get better

You know what? Fuck England. Fuck England, and fuck 'friends' and fuck everything here right now. Bring on America. I swear I hope everything works out because I need a fucking break from this place. The amount of people I actually care about now, and who I know care about me properly I can count on ONE HAND. So fuck all this. America, you had better not let me down.

Sooo I'll give you this recipe for Leek, Onion and Potato soup

It's absolutely gorgeous and sooooo easy to make! Delicious!

(Oh yeah, I posted Day 20 down below so check that out too!)

Day 20

Day 20 - A hobby of yours

Well...this is probably my only hobby really

Books. I read...a LOT. Last year I went through all my books and calculated I had around £1500 worth of books. I read VERY very fast. Since Saturday I have read 4 books already, and am 1/4 of the way through my next one. My life without books would be .... not worth a lot. I gave away 100 books last summer and I've bought that and some more since. I love them, they love me. Electronic readers can just piss off tbh, I love walking into a bookstore and smelling the books. Books smell divine I swear. And yeah, if I could have those bookcase....<3
So that's my hobby

Day 18

Day 18 - Whatever tickles your fancy

Meh once more. Well today my dad bought me books today, four new books! :D Oh wait, 5 as he ordered one for me too. Well my mum can read them too but still, you get me :D

It was super sunny today in jolly 'ol England! :D Look at this beautiful picture of the sky, if you ignore the bottom half of the picture rofl, but the top half is so pretty :D All blue and gorgeous, that's Wakefield Cathedral too aha

And this is my gorgeous Easter egg :D It cost £10 from ASDA lol, BUT IT'S THORNTONS SO TOTALLY WORTH EVERY GOD DAMN PENNY. I won't eat the little chocolates most likely. I don't really like them. But the egg is freaking huge, it's like..the size of my head o.o

My American Saviour!

So...I've not even met this girl yet. But I swear I love her already, in a totally non-lesbian weirdo way.

That might sound totally weird, but seriously, she's put my mind to ease so many times over things and just..been so nice! There's needs to be more people in the world like her. She's even going to her study abroad office tomorrow for me because I'm like...freaking the hell out over my application and I can't even put into words how much more relaxed I feel already! I'm so thankful that I met her, I know it was only a few times and we've not met since, but having someone there who's willing to be so helpful and nice is just...a relief. By the way, I've not mentioned her name, she's Annie. I've mentioned her before, her blogs on my right hand side I think. But...just yeah. I can't explain it, but she probably does more for me than she realises!
I can go to bed calm tonight.

European Dreams

So I realised just now, that I can't wait for Europe next year. There's over a year to go, over 365 days before me and Kirsty can just go on our trip and leave real life behind. And the sad thing is, that's the only thing right now in my life that's truly set in stone. Come hell or high water, I will be travelling Europe next year.

Pretty much, my university and student finance fucked up to put it simply. My university NEVER made a course code for the four year course, so everything's just basically bloody stopped as I'm trying desperately to sort it out. I feel like I'm messing Utah around, and I'm terrified that they're just suddenly going to go 'Oh no we can't wait any longer...sorry' and then tell me I can't do it and I have to drop onto a 3 year course again.

But if that happens, then I'm keeping my job at the students union hopefully, and I reckon I could easily save up around £5,000 for next summer, which means me and Kirsty could have the most epic European trip ever. Hell we could even do stuff like Egypt if we wanted or something.

But if anything happens and I can't do Europe, I think I'll be really heartbroken over it. I hate to say it, but I've come to terms right now with the fact that there's a chance I might not be going to Utah next year if everything doesn't get sorted out, but no Europe?
I can't even bear the thought of it.

Day 16

Day 16 - A song that makes you cry (or nearly)

Blah that would definitely have to be this song -

Whiskey Lullaby - Brad Paisley

My friend wrote a story with me in it based on this song and it was so freaking sad I nearly cried. Not mention I nearly cry at this song anyway for some unknown reason. I swear, as soon as it starts I tear up. No other song ever does it to me, just this one. It's so heartbreaking

Hmm, I've already shown you Acheron, my favourite book. So I'll just show you.....

It's part of a series called the Mercedes Thompson books, and this is the most recent and also my favourite of the series. I love Adam! It's another paranormal fantasy book so lots of werewolves, fae, vampires and other stuff and I love it. If you can't tell by the way, my favourite genre of books is paranormal fantasy/romance lol. My second favourite is crime, I really love crime books :/

Day 11 - A photo of you taken recently

This is the most recent photo of me :D I kinda like it...but I kinda don't. It needs some severe photoshopping lol. It's from March 12th at my friends wedding :) I like me with curly hair!
